Livesight is joining NEWITY
October 20, 2026
Today, we’re sharing some exciting news: Livesight is joining NEWITY!
We started building the Livesight product suite with one mission: make every small business visible and understood. That meant bringing together reliable information from dozens of disparate sources and precisely connecting the records to understand who these businesses are, what they do, and how they’re growing.
We spent years gathering data from scattered sources: Secretary of State, IRS, DOT, SBA, PPP records, along with a dozen other local, state, and federal registries, business websites, and social media pages. We used machine learning to hunt for high quality data and identify signals that could help predict business health. But that was only half the work. We also spent years refining the entity resolution engine that connected those records to the right business, returning reliable matches across more than 100 million records in under 200 milliseconds. I lost count of how many times we revisited our confidence scores, methodologies, and models to make sure our confidence thresholds reflected how reliable the matches really were.
Industry classification was its own obsession. Getting a business’s NAICS or SIC code right meant understanding what it actually did at a given point in time, not just when it started, but years and decades later (Small businesses pivot more often than one might think!). We pulled together descriptions from every reliable data source we could find and built models and heuristics to improve accuracy, 1% at a time.
Measuring business growth accurately was another hard problem to solve. We built profiles to understand how businesses were growing, benchmarking them against WARN layoffs, online job postings, and other growth trends in their geographies and industries. We built machine learning models to estimate growth and developed granular confidence scores so our users could understand how much to trust each individual piece of information.
Over time, those pieces came together to form a powerful business intelligence API. In every head-to-head comparison we participated in using live API calls, Livesight came out ahead on accuracy and coverage. Today, organizations like S&P Global, BYZfunder, and Verdata use the Livesight business suite across a wide variety of use cases.
As the AI rush shifted our attention to a new product line (Zanko) that was more aligned with the long-term strategic goals of the company, finding the right home for Livesight became a personal mission. As we got to know the NEWITY team, we quickly realized we had found the right home. They bring a deep, firsthand understanding of small business lending that we had to develop one customer at a time. They use the tools they build before anyone else does and depend on the data behind them. They understand what an incorrect match or an incomplete business profile means for a real lending decision. I’m excited to see Livesight grow with a team that continues to tackle these hard problems every day.
Our relationship will continue, too. As we build the operating system for regulated work at Spring Labs, we look forward to exploring how our technologies can support one another and the customers we serve. Understanding small businesses will always remain a critical part of many types of regulated work in financial services.
Thank you to everyone who put years of work and care into Livesight, and to the customers who trusted us and kept pushing us to get it right. I learned a lot from all of you, and I’m grateful we got to build this together. I’m proud of what we made and excited to see it grow in its new home.
